Fire Door Guidance – Before You Order
Our FD30 doorsets are supplied pre-hung only, unfinished, and without ironmongery. That means the door leaf is already prepared within the frame for correct installation, but final finishing and hardware selection remain your responsibility unless agreed separately.
Important Legal Note
For flats and multi-occupied residential buildings in England, fire door duties can include inspection, maintenance and ensuring doors remain in efficient working order. Flat entrance door checks and common-parts fire door checks are specifically covered by the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022.
UK Fire Door Compliance
In England, fire doors must be suitable for their intended location and installed in line with the building’s fire strategy, manufacturer instructions, and Building Regulations guidance.
Fire door performance depends on the complete doorset, correct installation, compatible hardware, seals, gaps and ongoing maintenance — not just the door leaf alone.
▪ Handing Guidance
Handing explained:
A door is described by the side of the hinges when viewed from the opening face.
Right Hand = hinges on the right opening towards you.
Left Hand = hinges on the left opening towards you.
If you are unsure, check the hinge side and the direction the door opens before ordering. Ordering the wrong handing can stop the doorset being suitable for the opening.
